The Wedding Date

by Elizabeth Young

Sophy invented a boyfriend "Dominic", to appease her mother after Sophy's boyfriend breaks up with her.  Unfortunately, the story gets away from her, and with her sister's wedding approaching, Sophy forces herself to hire an escort, Josh, to impersonate Dominic.  The lies just pile deeper and deeper, while Sophy starts falling for Josh.

This story is closer to "Bridget Jones" than the movie the sprang from it.  In an effort to prevent Debra Messing from using an English accent, the whole family is American, except for her sister's fiance.  Sure, the wedding takes place in England, and the two main characters fall for each other, but that's about the only similarities.  They even changed Sophy's name to Kat in the movie (which is pretty close to her former boyfriend Kit's name).  That said, I love the movie and the book.  They are both lightweight, fluffy romances... and I love lightweight, fluffy romance!
