The Three Musketeers

The Three Musketeers by Alexander Dumas

Athos, Porthos, and Aramis join with young D'Artagnan to save France from the intrigues of Cardinal Richelieu and his spies.

This story is full of action, adventure, treachery... and words.  If you are not used to old-style writing, you might want to read an abridged version, because this is a long story with a ton of characters. Also, a little knowledge about French history doesn't hurt either.  That said, it's a good story... I can see why there's been so many movies made over the years.
